Our city is home to the teeniest, tiniest, tastiest town there ever was! We’re talking about the Gingerbread Village at the Hotel at Auburn University. They officially unveiled it for the season on Dec. 5, welcoming visitors to check it out for free through New Year’s Day. And remember: you should only feast with your eyes!
About the Gingerbread Village
It’s not just a novelty! The Gingerbread Village at the Hotel at Auburn University is a yearly tradition. Each winter, the Hotel sets out a sugary display filled with Auburn landmarks—from Samford Hall to Toomer’s Corner.
This creation comes as a massive team effort from the hard-working staff members at the Hotel. They each get a part of Auburn to recreate in treat form. Hotel departments have help from Auburn University students and staff from the McWhorter School of Building Science.
Recent years have also brought new inclusions. Last year, they decided to build the Ag Heritage Park Pavilion (aka “The Red Barn). Before that, they added the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center into the mix. This year, you can see more than 10 different local buildings!

Everyone is welcome to visit the Gingerbread Village! Come one and all. You can view it for free at the Hotel through New Year’s Day.
The Hotel is located at 241 South College St. That’s just more than two miles from Summer Wind!
