Opelika’s Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux
According to a recent report, the news is official. While no building permits have been issued in the area for places like Dave and Busters, for instance, there is one confirmed new kid on the block. Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux has been issued a building permit.
The Opelika location for Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux will join the ranks of five other locations in the state. Other Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux locations in Alabama can be found in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery and Mobile.

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is “better than a sports bar” and “more than a restaurant.” It’s like a game day with a taste of Louisiana, according to their Instagram. Think inviting and full of flavor. Think authentic, made-from-scratch with a dash of Cajun.
This Baton Rouge-born concept will be bringing their “mouthwatering” cuisine featuring fresh seafood, Cajun dishes, burgers, salads and more to East Alabama.
In fact, guests can jump right into the experience and start with appetizers like Boudin Balls, for example.
This starter stars fried spicy pork and a rice blend. You can also “geaux” crazy and order alligator. As in farm-raised white tail meat, hand battered and fried to perfection!
Entrees go big with choices ranging from Mardi Gras Mahi to Tuscan Chicken to The Hangover Burger. To clarify, that last one includes a hand-patted burger with American cheese, sunny side up egg, bacon, waffle fries, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on a brioche bun.

The Opelika location for Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux will be located at 3041 Capps Way in the new development by the Eagle Gas Station in front of the Tiger 13 movie theater. Located right off I-85’s exit 58, it will be across from the new QT Gas Station that is currently under construction.
