About Pines Crossing Golf Course in Auburn

Formerly known as Indian Pines, this golf course has been jointly owned and operated by Auburn and Opelika since 1976. In order to make way for an extension of the Auburn University Regional Airport’s runway safety area, the golf course closed earlier this year for renovations.

To meet safety mandates, the airport acquired 11.6 acres of land on the course, which affected six of the holes. But don’t worry! With work and configuration, renovations to the golf course ultimately expanded it from 6,300 yards to 7,031 yards.

The official grand opening ceremony took place on Nov. 3rd. Both Auburn Mayor Ron Anders and Opelika Mayer Gary Fuller expressed their excitement for this facility to be back and better than ever.
