According to a recent report, a much-needed new kind of bar and lounge is coming to town. What was once University Donut Company on Magnolia Avenue will be Session Cocktails in Downtown Auburn.
Even though University Donut Company only closed a few weeks ago, construction is already underway to transform the former pastry shop into a high-end cocktail lounge.
In fact, according to the same report, Session Cocktails isn’t your typical “college bar.” When the doors open next month, guests can expect to be greeted by a hostess.
You will then be seated, and a server will take your drink order. Said drinks are usually delivered to your table within four minutes.
Wondering what’s on the menu? It’s strictly drinks, no food.

Session Cocktails in Downtown Auburn will likely feature the same kind of old-fashioned, specialty cocktails and spirits as the original location in Tuscaloosa.
The Auburn location will be the second Session Cocktails location to open. The original opened on University Boulevard in Tuscaloosa in 2019.
Now, three years later, they are rolling their concept to the Plains!
The menu
Guests will be able to sip and sample a wide variety of craft cocktails created with high-quality spirits. For example, there is the “Old Fashioned” featuring Old Forester 86 bourbon, demerara and Angostura bitters.
Prefer something sweet? You can’t go wrong with the “Coconut Daiquiri.” This refreshing cocktail includes Rum Haven coconut rum, lime and cane sugar.
