Our community is happy to extend a warm welcome to AO Discover. Field trips, wonderful winter events, exciting exhibits, and more—it’s already bringing the fun to our hometown. Want to visit this new spot? Read on to learn more!
What is AO Discover?
You can instill a sense love and appreciation for the sciences in future generations at AO Discover. This non-profit science center offers a place to learn and play. AO Discover is still crafting its unique experience—which means we have a lot to look forward to in the future. When all of the upcoming exhibits and offerings are fully implemented, they will include:
- A ball wall;
- A Lego area;
- A theater;
- A racetrack;
- A two-story-tall slide;
- Various traveling seasonal exhibits;
- A young explorer’s vet clinic;
- A farm-to-table grocery;
- A virtual reality area;
- And lots of other exciting places to explore!
Upcoming Holiday Events
You don’t have to worry about an empty calendar this season. AO Discover is hosting the following holiday events from Dec. 18 to 20:
- Whimsical Winter Wonderland, where you can do science experiments, explore past decorated trees, and go on a scavenger hunt;
- Family pictures with Santa (and the Christmas Unicorn and Llama Claus);
- The ‘Tis the Season to Discover Movie series, with Elf showing on Dec. 18 and Home Alone on Dec. 19.
You only need a family pass, which you can buy here, to go to the Wonderland and get Santa photos. The movies also require a family pass, as well as individual tickets, so don’t forget to buy yours in advance!
Visiting Details
There will always be something new to do at AO Discover! Visit them at 1199 South Donahue Drive. Their Winter Wonderland hours run from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday and Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
